Join us at Nacarat, the Queen Elizabeth Hotel’s elegant and lively bar in downtown Montreal, for an intimate Thursday night networking event on their outdoor terrace with your fellow Greek jurists at our first Montreal event of the year! (terrace seating is weather and space-permitting) Nacarat’s menu features some of the finest craft cocktails in the city, appropriately set against the backdrop of a famous hotel that has welcomed the likes of Queen Elizabeth II (four times), John Lennon and Yoko Ono. One beverage is included in the price of the ticket. Attendance is very limited, we hope to see you there!

2021 Annual General Meeting

It’s that time of year again when we gear up to gather and hold our
Annual General Meeting!

We invite you to join us for the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers’ Association’s Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 7 p.m. via Zoom video call, where we will honour our newest calls to the bar, share board updates and hold elections.

There are four (4), 2-year term board vacancies to be filled for 2021-2023. HCLA members who are interested in a board position must email hcla.information@gmail.com by no later than Thursday, September 16, 2021 so that the virtual polling can be arranged.

A formal agenda setting out the specific matters to be addressed at the AGM is attached.

Only HCLA active members can attend the AGM and hold a board position. There is no fee for the AGM for attendees.

2019 Annual General Meeting and President’s Dinner

This year we are pleased to present a Continuing Professional Development conversation, “Greek Lawyers’ Odyssey: From diaspora to the Supreme Court“, where we will discuss, among other things, the value of diversity and inclusion by drawing upon our own Hellenic diversity experience.

We are also pleased to present a star panel featuring:

– Christopher Tzekas, and

– Gus (Constantine) Alexiou.

This event has been accredited for 1 hour of LSO Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) credits.

Following the CPD, annual reports will be presented, followed by updates from the Executive Committee. We will conclude the meeting with our annual election. There will be a total of five (5), 2-year term director vacancies to fill this year. All those interested in joining the Executive Committee are encouraged to attend the meeting and submit their name for consideration by the membership.
