Join the HCLA to kick-off summer at The Blake House! Open to non-members and all Greek professionals. Funds raised go towards the HCLA Scholarship Program for law students of Hellenic descent.

Thursday June 15, 2023 from 6-8pm. Tickets are $35 and must be purchased in advance. Ticket includes a complimentary drink and appetizers.

We are pleased to announce our upcoming webinar “Legal Careers in Canada” with the Canadian-Ukrainian Legal Alliance and HCLA Honourary Director Gina Alexandris and former Director Yonida Koukio.

The webinar will focus on:

– how to build a successful legal career in Canada as a foreign lawyer
– what skills a young lawyer should possess
– interesting legal niches and specialties for foreign lawyers in Canada
– the transformation of the legal market in Canada: what new directions and opportunities are coming in 2023 (artificial intelligence, intellectual property of bloggers and influencers, copywriting, etc)

The Hellenic Canadian Lawyers’ Association (HCLA) is committed to promoting legal education in the Hellenic Community and is proud to offer the education seminar “Intro to the Canadian Legal System for Hellenic Youth”.

The webinar will provide an overview of the legal system in Canada, including the constitutional framework, court structure and litigation process from a practitioner’s perspective and will focus on civil litigation with an emphasis on corporate / commercial matters and on the criminal legal system.

The session is intended for Hellenic youth in Grades 9 through to University who may be curious to learn more about the legal system in Canada. All attendees will be entitled to participate in a random draw for a prize!
